Therapy fitted to the person.

I work primarily with adults, and also with adolescents and children. My practice draws on CBT, ACT, Mindfulness-Based CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, EFFT, and Family Systems. The approach is fitted to you and your goals, not the other way around.

Sessions are 50 minutes, weekly or biweekly, in Oakville, Georgetown, or online via OWL Practice, a secure video platform used for virtual care. Online sessions are available only for clients currently in Ontario. Many focused concerns are worked through in about 8 to 16 sessions; longer-standing patterns may take several months or more. We review progress together every six to eight weeks and plan the ending once we name the finish line.

Frequently asked questions

Who do you work with?
I work with individuals: adults, adolescents, and children. I do not currently offer couples therapy. For couples work, the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy directory is a good place to start.
What therapy approaches do you use?
I draw on CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and Family Systems. The approach is chosen to fit you and your goals.
Is therapy covered by OHIP?
No. Psychotherapy with a psychologist is paid privately and is not covered by OHIP. Many extended health benefit plans reimburse part of the fee, so it is worth checking your plan.
Do I need a referral to start therapy?
No referral is required to begin. Some insurers ask for a physician's referral before they reimburse, so it is worth confirming with your plan.
Can I have sessions online?
Yes. Sessions can be in person in Oakville or Georgetown, or online via OWL Practice, a secure video platform used for virtual care. Online sessions are available only for clients located in Ontario at the time of the session.
