Grief & loss

Grief does not follow a schedule, and it is not only about death. It can be the loss of health, of a relationship, of a role, or of an entire world left behind in emigration. Therapy is a place where loss can be named and held, without rushing and without fixed stages to get through.

What therapy can help with

  • Bereavement after the death of someone close
  • Anticipatory grief (when a loss is still ahead)
  • Disenfranchised loss that is hard to speak about
  • The hidden grief of emigration: loss of home, language, community
  • Loss of health, a relationship, or a life role

How we work together

Grief work begins with listening, not with technique. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based approaches (MBCT) help make room for pain while finding a way back toward a life that matters. The pace is yours.
